Consignment - Terms and conditions |
 |
We take entire or partial numismatic collections on consignment. The average price for objects on consignment must be at least €100 and no coins worth less than €45 will be accepted.
When we take items on consignment, we provide you with a consignment contract. This contract commits you to a consignment period of at least 6 months. Following this period, the coins may be retrieved free of charge, except for any possible shipping charges. Prior to the end of this 6-month period, you may retrieve all or part of the items on consignment against payment of a flat commission rate of 5% exclusive of tax, as a processing fee.
The consignment contract will indicate the consignment order number as well as the sub-position numbers of the items, with a brief description of each item on the opposite page, along with the individual retail selling price; the contract will also very clearly indicate the applicable commission rate excluding VAT.
Upon receipt, we assume full responsibility for the coins. They will be presented with the other coins in our stock at all the coin fairs in which we participate and they will be featured in our online catalogue and in the sales catalogues that we publish, at no extra cost except for those stipulated in the consignment contract.
We assume full responsibility for any identification, description or authentication errors, and no claims may be brought against you or your assignees in this respect.
The items may only be put up for sale once you have signed the consignment contract.
The selling prices stipulated in the consignment contract are guaranteed; no modifications may be made unless you have given your signed consent. However, we shall have no obligation to perform.
In the event of a sale, the transaction statement of the sold items shall be sent on a monthly basis, at the latest within two months, accompanied by their payments.
The commission rate is 20% of the selling price excl. VAT. The 6,5% capital gains tax on items whose individual selling price is over €5,000 will be added to the transaction statement. Any legal modifications regarding tax laws and more specifically capital gains tax, will be applied immediately, with no recourse possible.
